Amara Resort and Spa Unveils Tree-Lodge Aesthetic and Major Renovation

By M+E Staff

Tucked along the banks of Oak Creek Canyon in Sedona, Amara Resort and Spa has wrapped up a multimillion-dollar renovation that has upgraded all 100 guestrooms, public spaces, Amara Spa, SaltRockSouthwest Kitchen and 5,000 square feet of meeting and event space. The aim was to create a tree lodge aesthetic that plays off the surrounding red rocks of Sedona and brings the outdoors in through the five elements of nature: earth, wood, metal, fire and water.

Guest Rooms – Neutral tones blend with organic textures, a deep blue feature wall creates a sense of connection to the sights and sounds of the nearby creek, and wooden elements like headboards handcrafted from local fallen trees provide a totally new feel to guest rooms. Bathrooms have walk-in showers with rain showerheads and large porcelain tile that reflects the look of the area’s sandstone layers.

Meetings and Event Space – Amara’s five meeting rooms have been refreshed with new carpet, window treatments and a neutral color palette paired with pops of accent colors.

Lobby – The vaulted ceilings are adorned with two chandeliers inspired by star constellations, and wood accents and bold textures are featured in the furniture, art and accessories. A focal point of the lobby is an elongated bar that extends from the adjoining SaltRock Southwest Kitchen to encourage guests and groups to mix and mingle.

SaltRockSouthwest Kitchen – Velvet banquettes, Himalayan salt accent walls, a community dining table, privacy screens replicating the colors of Sedona, and a more open bar complement the expanded seating layout at SaltRock. The restaurant’s expansive patio offers views of Sedona’s famous Cleopatra Red Rock Formation and Snoopy Rock.

Amara Spa – In addition to new finishes and features, a brand-new 24-hour fitness center and retail outpost have been added.

Groups also will enjoy Amara Resort and Spa’s large open-air courtyard, heated infinity pool, outdoor fire pits and weekly stargazing sessions hosted by local astronomy experts.
