Mountain Shadows, originally opened in 1959 and quickly setting the benchmark for desert luxury, was newly constructed from the ground up in what is now known as Paradise Valley through a partnership between Westroc Hospitality and Woodbine Development Corporation. Nestled between Camelback and Mummy mountains and reopened in April, the $100 million property was 12 years in the making and features 183 guest rooms, 42 condominiums and lofts and 37,500 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space.

>> Live-action escape rooms are a new form of interactive entertainment, and Steamboat Springs has welcomed the addition of The Crooked Key. Teams use their communication skills and follow the clues to crack the puzzle and escape from one of two themed rooms in 60 minutes or less. The rooms accommodate groups of eight comfortably.
After working to get a hotel built at Main and First streets since 2010, Ketchum officially welcomed Aspen Skiing Company’s Limelight Hotel at a grand opening celebration in January. The 175,000-square-foot hotel features 111 guest rooms and suites, 14 private residences, and 4,000 square feet of indoor function space.

As the gateway to several of the state’s mountain resorts, Salt Lake City boasts a booming dining and nightlife scene worthy of checking out including a new beer hall and downtown theater and several restaurants with private dining space that recently joined the scene.
There is still time to enjoy spring on the slopes and adventure in the mountains once the sun starts going down in Snowmass.
>> A Moonlight Trek on snowshoes or cross-country skis follows a 1.2-mile loop under the moonshine from Snowmass Cross Country Center to Anderson Ranch Arts Center, stopping at stations along the way for hot cocoa with local firefighters, selfie breaks and more. Head down the hill for live music and a pasta dinner at Snowmass Club’s Black Saddle Bar and Grille.

The Snake River has carved its way deep into the Earth’s surface to create the massive walls of Hells Canyon. While hiking, camping, fishing, kayak - ing and rafting are great ways to see this amazing attraction, jet boat tours offer something truly different. Hells Canyon is most easily accessed from Lewiston. From White Bird, part of the road is gravel but doable in passenger cars.
