AT&T Hotel and Conference Center Expands Its Meetings Options

By M+E Staff

The AT&T Hotel and Conference Center, located on the campus of the University of Texas at Austin, is a study on how to meet smart. The sustainability-focused (it’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design gold certified and chefs use locally sourced ingredients whenever possible) venue first opened its doors in 2008 and renovated its rooms in 2016. In 2018, the center celebrated the grand opening of its highly anticipated 30,000-squarefoot expansion, which includes the 15,000-square-foot Zlotnik Family Ballroom, 5,000 square feet of prefunction space, nine meeting rooms and an additional banquet kitchen. The prefunction space features a stunning 4,000-square-foot mural by José Parlá, a Brooklyn-based artist known for his paintings, sculpture, photography and architectural collaborations.

The expansion brings the venue’s total event space to more than 83,000 square feet. The project was done in conjunction with the construction of the brand-new 497,500-square-foot graduate business facility, Robert B. Rowling Hall, which will house the Texas McCombs MBA and M.S. in Technology Commercialization programs, the Jon Brumley Texas Venture Labs, the John C. Goff Labs, and the Center for Leadership and Ethics. The facility also includes a state-of-the-art studio for video and sound production and the Rowling Hall Courtyard for mingling alfresco between sessions.
