Established in 2021 to champion the common interests of the face-to-face business events industry, the Exhibitions & Conferences Alliance (ECA) continues to grow with PCMA joining as the 10th alliance partner. The other nine alliance partners for 2023 include the Center for Exhibition Industry Research, Destinations International, Experiential Designers & Producers Association, Exhibition Services & Contractors Association, International Association of Exhibitions and Events, International Association of Venue Managers, Society of Independent Show Organizers, Trade Show Labor Alliance, and UFI.
ECA works with policymakers to ensure a favorable operating environment for the sector, the full return of international exhibitors and attendees to U.S. events, a strong future workforce, and a more sustainable industry going forward. One of the tactics is hosting an ECA Legislative Action Day on June 1 in Washington, D.C.
The event will bring advocates and leaders from across the face-to-face business events industry to Capitol Hill to meet with members of Congress about the ECA’s federal policy priorities and the vital role that the industry plays in the United States. Additional 2023 Legislative Action Day details and logistical information will be forthcoming.
“It has never been more important for our industry to stand shoulder to shoulder when talking to government about how business events spur economic growth, support job creation, and empower small businesses,” says Hervé Sedky, chair of the ECA board of directors and president and CEO of Emerald Holding Inc. “To that end, I’m delighted to welcome the global PCMA community to ECA, which will help the alliance further amplify its important advocacy message to the decision makers that matter.”
This year’s ECA Legislative Action Day is being held in conjunction with the Lippman Connects Exhibition and Convention Executives Forum that is happening on May 31. The one-day information sharing and networking event is for executives from independent and association organizers of business-to-business exhibitions.
