Marriott International appointed three team members in January to key business-to-business, customer-facing roles as part of the company’s commitment to innovation and growth both within the hospitality industry and in the meetings and events sphere.

Gail Frazer was named senior vice president of sales and distribution for the company’s U.S. and Canada markets. Frazer most recently held the title of managing vice president of sales and distribution for premium and luxury hotels in the eastern U.S. region for Marriott, part of her more than 25 years in the industry. Her background is heavily tied to sales work, having spent time on Marriott’s corporate global sales segment representing the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio to large corporate business-to-business customers.

Andy Kauffman joined Marriott as chief commercial officer for the U.S. and Canada markets. He mostly recently served as senior vice president of marketing strategy and science for the NFL since 2021. During his tenure there he led transformative marketing strategies and directly oversaw fan insights and personalized engagement, marketing technology and data management, and marketing activation across the league, its partners, and all 32 teams’ marketing channels. This work was preceded by an 11-year stint at Marriott in a variety of roles on digital and marketing teams.

Shannon Patterson was appointed senior vice president of global sales and has been with Marriott since 1996 when she first joined as a senior internal auditor. During her time with the company, Patterson has held positions in finance and business development, revenue management, information technology consultancy, brand marketing, and customer engagement. Most recently, she served as senior vice president for global growth and delivery, a role centered on forging new business partnerships and overseeing the annual pricing process for Marriott’s corporate accounts.
