The list ranks thousands of hotels in the country and is based off criteria such as industry awards, hotel star ratings, and user ratings. The criteria are analyzed along with expert opinions, traveler reviews, and the insider knowledge of in-destination writers and editors from the media organization. The list’s top five hotels for 2024 are:

- Four Seasons Hotel at The Surf Club—Surfside, Florida
- The Langham, Chicago—Chicago, Illinois
- The Peninsula Chicago—Chicago, Illinois
- Montage Laguna Beach—Laguna Beach, California
At Acqualina Resort & Residences in Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, four oceanfront meeting rooms offer an elegant ocean feel for smaller meetings from 10 to 40 attendees or larger parties of up to 70. It also has tented event lawn areas that can accommodate up to 100 attendees for galas and the like. Four Seasons Hotel at The Surf Club in Surfside, Florida, has 6,704 square feet of meeting and event space with options like the picturesque Lido Terrace that can accommodate up to 175 attendees and features an ocean view. Montage Laguna Beach offers 18 different options for rentable space from their intimate 1,200-square-foot Courtyard, perfect for breakout meetings or cocktail hours, to its recently renovated Grand Ballroom, a 7,500-square-foot space that can be split evenly into three sections.
For less coastal and more urban options, The Langham, Chicago, in Chicago, Illinois, features a spectacular Devonshire Ballroom, with 22-foot-high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows that can accommodate 250 attendees. The Peninsula, Chicago, has a plethora of elegant meeting and event spaces including its 4,782-square-foot Grand Ballroom with views of Chicago’s Magnificent Mile district. The Peninsula also offers in-hotel catering from international banquet chefs.
