Guest blog from Coni Thornburg, general manager at Calistoga Ranch.
The California wine country wildfires were devastating, but our community is strong and I am incredibly moved by how everyone has worked together to help those in need and to rebuild. We will be forever grateful to our first responders and firefighting teams who worked so hard to protect our beautiful valley, and are beyond thankful that all three of our Auberge Resorts—Calistoga Ranch, Auberge du Soleil and Solage—were untouched. However, many were not so lucky, and our hearts go out to them.
With strong roots in Napa Valley, we are dedicated to doing whatever we can to help mend our community, whether it’s through feeding firemen and volunteers, direct donations or participating in events that give back such as the Dominique Crenn-led Chefsgiving in November, a week of special dinners in which 100% of the profits go to wildfire relief; 100 resturants and counting are taking part. You can find out more about the week as well as the Chefsgiving gala taking place on November 19 here.
Tourism is the lifeblood of this community, so what I would say that if you want to help, the best way to do that is by visiting the wine country. Napa Valley is a spectacular destination, waiting to welcome visitors back!
For those who have always wanted to come to wine country or considered having a meeting, event or retreat here, now is the time, knowing that every bottle of wine purchased, dinner out, wine tour and hotel stay is helping to heal the valley.
We look forward to welcoming you back to wine country and we sincerely thank you for your love and support.
