Anaheim Marriott Reveals Solar System

By M+E Staff

The Anaheim Marriott, which recently made a major investment in renewable energy, just activated a solar system in three portions of its hotel roof that currently fuels about one-third of the property’s 1,030 guest rooms.

The installation at Anaheim Marriott was implemented in partnership with SoCore Energy. The new system features 1,805 solar modules and is projected to produce 880,000 kilowatt hours of power per year. By having this new energy source, it reduces the hotel’s energy consumption equal to the elimination of a year’s greenhouse gas emissions from 131 vehicles.

“While this investment makes clear economic sense, the reduction of our carbon footprint is also extremely meaningful to our associates, our guests and the surrounding community,” says Alex Shotwell, director of sales and marketing. “We look forward to promoting further clean energy advances as we minimize the hotel’s impact on the environment.”
