In the up-and-coming east Austin area in Texas, ARRIVE Hotels & Restaurants is building a new boutique hotel. Located on the corner of East 6th and Chicon St., this will be ARRIVE’s second location. The new hotel will have 83 rooms and will open in the spring of 2019.
This second location will embrace the creative spirit of Austin as ARRIVE always builds its properties to match neighborhood in which they are located. Co-developers Alexa Management, project consultants Burton Baldridge Architects, Big Red Dog engineering, DWG landscape architect, and EyeLikeDesign creative design will work together to design the property. These companies will incorporate a 100-year-old warehouse in the design, using the traditional industrial materials for the hotel’s modern design. The goal of the design team is to create a social hub for Austin locals and guests. The space will feature two neighborhood restaurants and bars, a coffee shop, and retail stores. Chris Pardo Design will design the interiors, drawing inspiration from east Austin’s craftsmen, artists and entrepreneurs. The company will highlight Austin’s development as home to some of the city’s most popular restaurants.
“East Austin’s energy is magnetic,” says Ezra Callahan, co-founder of ARRIVE Hotels & Restaurants. “It is one of the most vibrant neighborhoods in the country, and one we are proud to join and to celebrate. And we look forward to embracing and supporting the local community of East Austin.”
In the new hotel, 3,500 square feet of the 58,600 total square feet will be meeting and event space, including an outdoor courtyard. The flexible, connected layout of the space will accommodate business meetings and a range of events and private parties. The hotel’s 2-mile proximity to the Austin Convention Center gives planners convenient access to a larger range of space.
Just like ARRIVE’s first location in the Uptown Design District of Palm Springs in 2016, the new hotel will not have a front desk, and guests will check in and access all services through text message or through the bar. This socially savvy concept is part of ARRIVE’s branding and services, and will continue in its planned expansions in the future.
ARRIVE is also proud to announce its participation in the Worker’s Defense Project’s Better Builder Program with the construction of its new hotel in Austin. It will ensure that the construction staff is guaranteed living wages, and are protected by health and safety guidelines. Stays at the new hotel are expected to start at $199 per night.
