Arrowhead Golf Club’s (AGC) clubhouse is just ten years old, and from Wednesday, May 24 through Wednesday, June 1, it’s celebrate that decade with $10 restaurant and bar specials, 10% off special merchandise, and more.
Select Sandwiches, beer flights and domestic buckets of beer will be on special for $10. Golfers can up their game by upping their gear with 10% off merchandise sporting the AGC logo in the pro shop. And all week long, guests can win great raffle prizes.
Completed in 2006, the clubhouse is a massive example of modern architecture, incorporating and updating influences from the Cape Cod and Colonial Revival Schools of design. Along with large gables, double-hung windows, and a mixture of stone, siding, and metal, the clubhouse shows balance in its color palette of taupes burgundies, and whites.
Danielle Salerno, Director of Banquets, Catering, and Sales, enjoys the peace of the clock tower lookout the most. “When you go in there, it’s almost like being alone in a lighthouse,” she said. “So much serenity surrounds you. The wind blows through. It takes my mind off all the hustle and bustle for a moment.”
The celebration’s not only about the clubhouse; it’s also about what happens inside. Thanks to over 13,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, the clubhouse also holds hundreds of parties, reunions, meetings, luncheons, and social occasions each year.
AGC’s 221 acres were home to a farm from the 1850s until 1924, when the land was sold to the builders of the site’s first golf course. The original 18-hole Antlers Club—which opened in July 1926—was built with horse-drawn plows and featured ponds that resembled antlers when viewed from the air. In 1929, the club received its current name in honor of the many Native American artifacts found onsite during construction, and in 1967, nine more holes were added to make 27.
