Berlin took first place in the annual International Congress & Convention Association’s (ICCA) meeting city rankings this year. The famous city hosted 195 meetings for associations in 2015. This first place slot represents a three position rise from 4th place last year.
In 2015, Munich and Hamburg joined Berlin in the top 100 worldwide rankings, and these cities plus Dresden, Dusseldorf, Cologne, Leipzig and Frankfurt figured into the top 100 European city rankings as well, giving Germany 8 cities in total in that additional listing.
Along with this recent ranking, Germany has continued to show excellence in the ICCA country rankings, remaining number one in Europe and second worldwide (only behind the U.S.) for the 12th consecutive year, with 667 association meetings hosted in 2015.
This year, Germany will host many events, ranging from gatherings like the 10th International AAAI Conference on Weblogs and Social Media ICWSM-16 in Cologne, the IATA 138th Slot Conference Association in Hamburg, the 20th International Conference on Prenatal Diagnosis and Therapy -ISPD- in Berlin, to the 28th AACR-NCI-EORTC Symposium on Molecular Targets and Cancer Therapeutics in Cologne.
