Chateau on the Lake Resort Names New Managers

Chateau on the Lake Resort, Spa & Convention Center has added Gayla Welsh as corporate sales manager, and Jessica Wrenfrow as event sales manager.

Gayla Welsh has been in the hospitality industry for 25 years, gaining sales experience at The Lodge at Old Kinderhook in Camdenton, Missouri, as director of group sales for five years; serving five years as the director of group sales for The Lodge in Lake Ozark, Missouri; twelve years as the senior sales manager at Tan-Tar-A-Resort, Golf Club, Marina & Indoor Waterpark in Osage Beach, Missouri; along with the positions of community education coordinator for Lake Career & Technical Center in Camdenton, Missouri; and regional account manager for MedFare in Osage Beach, Missouri. Welsh’s new tasks as the Corporate Sales Manager for Chateau on the Lake Resort include the sales efforts in the corporate meetings markets in Iowa, Illinois, Nebraska, Missouri, and Kansas, says Nathan Wood, director of sales at Chateau on the Lake Resort. Jessica Wrenfrow earned a Bachelor of Arts in family and consumer sciences from the College of the Ozarks, and a Master of Science in human environmental services with an emphasis on hospitality from the University of Arkansas. After graduating, Wrenfrow was an adjust instructor at Ozarks College, teaching developmental courses preparing students for future classes. She also worked at Arkansas State University-Newport in Jonesboro, Arkansas, as the hospitality services instructor for four years. Wrenfrow’s new responsibilities include helping association executives, incentive specialists, business executives, meeting professionals, and event planners when planning programs, meetings, and events at Chateau on the Lake Resort, specializing in galas and weddings. Chateau on the Lake Resort, Spa & Convention Center has received the AAA Four Diamond Rating for 19 years in a row, which is the only resort and hotel in Branson to hold the rating in 2017. The resort has 301 guest rooms and suites, 43,500 square feet of meeting space on one level, and outdoor venues as well that showcase the vistas of Table Rock Lake, gardens, and surrounding mountains. Its location in the beautiful venue allows Chateau on the Lake Resort to offer recreational options and proximity to Branson.

The guest rooms at the resort were renovated in January 2015, with upgrades including cherry wood headboards, Serta Perfect Sleeper plush mattresses, two types of king-size pillows, 300 thread-count sateen sheets, and custom-made toppers with down insert. Additionally, granite-top desks and tables, two phones, custom-made shower curtains, and window treatments to match the brown, beige, and yellow color scheme. Additional items were added to the rooms, such as 37″ flat screen HD televisions, free wi-fi, an iron and ironing board, in-room safes, in-room on demand movies, a Keurig coffee maker with Green Mountain Coffee, dual line telephones, and tiled stone baths. All of the smaller meeting spaces were renovated as well, with high speed internet access in all meeting rooms, free wi-fi in pre-convene areas, on-site A/V service, a 24 hour business center, and banquet and catering services.

The Chauteau on the Lake Resort now boasts of 20 meeting rooms. These include the Great Hall, which adds 32,000 square feet of space, along with three corporate board rooms, and the Executive Board Room that was added in January 2015. The Executive Board Room has new led lighting, flex-back banquet chairs, state-of-the-art A/V and technology, and “linenless” meeting tables. A 54-seat private theater for special presentations is available as well.

Chateau on the Lake Resort has many other amenities than meeting space, which include the seasonal Chateau Marina, which offers boat rentals like ski boats, wave runners, sea kayaks, and pontoons. The Chateau Marina also offers guided trips such as scuba diving, snorkeling, fishing, catamaran, and parasailing. Other amenities include a 24/7 fitness center, a 24/7 year round indoor pool and hot tub (with adults only allowed after 10:00 p.m.), an outdoor seasonal hot tub and pool, an indoor video theater, a full service concierge, golf at six area courses, the Crawdddies Kids Club for children ages 4-12, hiking and biking trails, as well as two lit tennis courts. The resort also houses a 10 story sky-lit atrium with streams of Koi fish, along with a library lounge with a stone fireplace.

Another large amenity includes the Spa Chateau. At 14,000 square feet, the spa offers 10 treatment rooms, an Infinity Tub that is filled from the ceiling, an outdoor Roman Bath underneath a waterfall with views of Table Rock Lake, a hair salon, and customized body treatments.

Chateau on the Lake Resort’s location in Branson features more than 80 live shows per day during season, due to Branson’s description as “Live Music Show Capital of America”. Other attractions include the Titanic Museum Attraction, the Branson Landing, Silver Dollar City, and downtown Branson, which has many restaurants, shops, musical events, and festivals.
