Chef Doug Adams will open his first restaurant in Portland, Ore., in late 2017. The new restaurant will be called Bullard (after the Texas town where he grew up),and located in the new Woodlark Hotel.
“I always wanted to open my own restaurant and, when the opportunity arose to partner with Provenance Hotels and do it here in Portland, I knew it was meant to be,” Adams reveals. “Portland is a one-of-a-kind-place with amazing indigenous products and a true sense of community. I’m incredibly excited to create a restaurant that will marry the spirit of this city with my own personal culinary heritage and be influenced by the amazing cuisine in which I continually find creative inspiration.”
Adams attended the Western Culinary Institute in Portland, and has gained extensive experience since then –even competing on Season 12 of Bravo’s Top Chef. He worked as a sous chef 2012, became Chef de Cuisine in 2014, earned the 2015 Chef of the Year from Eater PDX and was nominated for the 2016 James Beard Award Rising Star.
