Design Details Revealed in the Mansion at Natirar’s Restoration

By M+E Staff

The Mansion at Natirar will reopen this June with new spaces for club members and private events following a 35,000-square-foot restoration, which created new areas such as the Grand Ballroom and Conservatory. The new design is predicted to put the venue at the top of the list for Northern New Jersey events.

“What sets The Mansion at Natirar apart from others in the area is its ability to draw you out to the landscape, the view, the sunsets and nature,” says Bob Wojtowicz, founder. “The new Ballroom and Conservatory will take full advantage of that attribute, drawing the outdoors in through expansive windows, rustic design elements, and a spectacular living wall feature.”

Part of the restoration included a new foyer that will serve as the arrival and reception space for guests.

The Grand Ballroom is accessible from the mansion via the connecting and can be used for events, meetings and weddings. Features of the space include brick walls, wooden doors, textured acoustical fabrics and iron chandeliers.

The Mansion’s living wall will both clean the air and reduce noise levels, serving as an inspirational and functional piece. Nine plants were selected to reflect the events taking place in the ballroom; aeschynathus rosta, hoya camosa, pellionia pulchra, asplenum, Spathlphyllum, pothos, rhipsalis capilliformis, philodendron, and ficus repens.

The Conservatory space will be used for gatherings, receptions, wedding ceremonies, and other events. Features include a brick façade, green surroundings and large glass doors.

The Conservatory Patio will feature sofas and lounge chairs, a fire pit, simple landscaping with natural elements and trees with dangling lights.

The Mansion also will include a Bride Room that gives bridal parties a place to retreat to and spend time together.

The Women’s Restroom will be feminine and modern with white walls, white marble floors and simple fixtures. In contrast, the Men’s Restroom will be masculine with sleek fixtures and dark stone counters.

One Natirar club member room includes the Parlor and Sitting Room. This room will be an intimate lounge inviting conversation. Features of the room include faux marble wallpaper, wood floors and comfortable banquettes.

Adjacent to the parlor will be the Sports Lounge. This room will feature a masculine palette, an antique area rug, game tables, sofas, and historic artwork.

The Members Bar will be the main social space of the area. This space will include leather barstools, a long bar and a one-of-a-kind wood table from trees found on Natirar’s grounds.
