Destination Kohler Appoints Doug Stringer as Head Chef of the Award-Winning Immigrant Restaurant

Kohler Co. has announced the appointment of Doug Stringer as head chef of The Immigrant Restaurant, located at The American Club resort-hotel at Destination Kohler.

Stringer joined Kohler Co. in 2015 as sous chef of Riverbend, where he oversaw all facets of kitchen operations, purchasing, food cost management, staffing, menu design, and overall leadership. He has over seven years of fine dining and hospitality experience. In his new role, he will oversee the development and creation of culinary programs.

“Chef Stringer has exemplified his dedicated passion, drive and creativity throughout his tenure with Kohler Co., and we are thrilled to see him take the lead at the Immigrant Restaurant,” says Tom McGinty, director of food and beverage operations at Destination Kohler. “The Immigrant Restaurant is one of our premier dining offerings, and we’re confident that chef will continue to elevate the illustrious program with his innovative approach to fine dining.”

Kohler’s celebrated dining program, The Immigrant Restaurant is rich in character and historic significance. The layout is designed in six spaces, representing the nationalities that populated Wisconsin in its early days (French, Dutch, German, Normandy, Danish and English). The restaurant features a seasonally evolving and is accompanied with an extensive vintage wine and spirit list.
