Fairmont Royal York has welcomed its exclusive, luxury “hotel within a hotel,” Fairmont Gold to offer guests a personalized hospitality service. Designed by award-winning New York-based firm, Champalimaud, Fairmont Gold includes an intimate private lounge, a collection of 106 new elegantly appointed guest rooms, studio suites and one-bedroom suites.
“Fairmont Gold is for discerning guests, from celebrities and heads of state, to business executives and leisure travelers, providing them with the highest level of exceptional service for a memorable and personalized stay. Anyone who wants to experience the highest level of service and care is invited to book Fairmont Gold,” says Edwin Frizzell, regional vice president and general manager of Fairmont Royal York.
The luxury program offers butler services, in-shower, whole-body spa experiences, a sleep program with sleep masks, pillow masks and a dedicated pillow menu, and more. Fairmont Gold also offers a variety of culinary options inspired by the rich history of Toronto’s neighborhoods. In the lounge, guests have access to an all-day food and beverage menu. To complete the homage to the beloved city of Toronto, Fairmont Gold features art chosen by Toronto-based Tatar Art Projects to embody the visual narrative of the city.
“Fairmont Gold is designed for a completely personalized stay, and guests receive more intimate attention. The highly trained concierge team knows each guest by name and can anticipate their needs, from itinerary development to administrative tasks and wellness needs,” says Frizzell.
At Fairmont Royal York, floors 13 through 18 have been completely redesigned, and on the 18th floor, there is a private Fairmont Gold Lounge where guests can unwind and enjoy special privileges such as an honour bar and complimentary cocktail canapés, which are served in a tranquil atmosphere. The private, dedicated area offers corporate and leisure residents a calm sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of the hotel, Frizzell says.
Each Fairmont Gold offering varies within the brand and is unique to the hotel where it is located; in Toronto, Fairmont Royal York’s Fairmont Gold features nods to its Art-Deco history in several aspects of its interior design, Frizzell adds. From the bespoke mural at the private reception area showcasing a bustling downtown Toronto core, to the hand-selected book collection in the lounge’s library, the offering pays homage to the metropolis of Toronto with the comfort of a luxury home.
“As one of Canada’s most historic hotels, it is with pride and a sense of responsibility that we honor our distinguished past; the new Fairmont Gold exquisitely captures the hotel’s timeless grandeur yet embodies a modern essence, creating a glamorous, contemporary urban oasis,” he says.
Fairmont Gold rates start at $600 CAD per night.
