Fun New Colorado Products for Gifts & Gatherings

By M+E Staff

Colorado Meetings + Events regularly receives information about the latest products on the market. Here are a few that might work for your next gathering as a gift, treats or practical pieces.

Based in Loveland, Uprooted Artistry harvests trees that have died from pine beetle kill and transforms them into beautiful serving boards and other home decor products. The serving boards can be personalized as gifts or used by caterers, restaurants and hotels for unique food displays.

Send guests home with a usable Denver memory in the form of artistic melamine trays and platters, ceramic mugs, tea towels, prints, pillows and totes that can be purchased as is or customized. Designer and founder Tammy Smith, a former Hallmark Cards artist, picked up a spool of wire at her local hardware store and began sketching in wire to create illustrations for products representing cities like Denver, Chicago, Dallas, San Francisco, Portland and Seattle.

As its name implies, Colorado-based Replica produces wines that taste like popular costly wines. Instead of serving expensive wines such as Rombauer’s Carneros Chardonnay and The Prisoner Red Blend, event planners can now offer nearly identical-tasting Retrofit and Pickpocket at a cost that’s 25–50 percent less. Replica, owned by parent company Integrated Beverage Group, has partnered with Ellipse Analytics to analyze thousands of wines and compile a huge database of taste and aroma information.

We’ve all heard about and perhaps tasted cake pops but now there’s a new game in town available in four-packs at several grocers and in bulk. Colorado-made cakebars by Tickleberry Desserts contain no artificial preservatives, colors or flavors and are simply cake baked onto a stick and surrounded by a confectionary coating and tasty toppings. At only 150 calories, no one feels too bad indulging when it involves flavors like dark chocolate, vanilla bean, cookies n’ cream and seasonal options like strawberry shortcake, peppermint bark and red velvet.
