The Greater Madison Convention & Visitors Bureau is celebrating immense success with their Big Bundle Up warm clothing drive.
With Middleton Tourism Commission, GMCVB was able to bring in 580 pieces of warm clothing to give to those in need—an 86 percent increase from last year’s donation of 269 items of clothing.
All donations were made to the Madison YWCA, which shelters 150 women, children and families every night.
The Big Bundle Up campaign is led by the Wisconsin Department of Tourism. Since its start in 2011, the campaign has collected 103,400 item—31,697 items came in this year alone.
“This is such a record-breaking campaign for us,” says Deb Archer, president/CEO, Greater Madison Convention & Visitors Bureau and Madison Area Sports Commission. “Watching the numbers of clothing come in and the generosity of the Greater Madison community has been overwhelming.”
