Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa Manager Receives Lifetime Leadership Award

Dan King, general manager of Hyatt Regency Hill Country Corporation’s has won the Jay A. Pritzker Award for Leadership, 2015. The Jay A. Pritzker Award is a lifetime achievement award that is given to those who have demonstrated their abilities as leaders, coaches and mentors; they are role models that serve as representative of the Hyatt’s purpose and values.

“Dan exudes a special energy and spirit that embodies this award,” says Jordan Meisner, senior vice president of operations. “He has an innate manner in which he is able to provide genuine, authentic hospitality to his customers and hotel guests.”

Hyatt hands out the Jay A. Pritzker Award annually to top professionals within the organization; this nomination marks his fifth time being up for this award.

“Dan has been the catalyst for our rapid growth and the architect for our current positioning as best in class,” says Jeff Donahoe, director of sales and marketing at Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa. “Through Dan’s vision and leadership, we have created a world-class service culture.”

During his 35-year tenure with Hyatt, King has worked in 12 Hyatt hotels across the country. He served as general manager at Hyatt Regency Jacksonville for more than six years before joining Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa in May 2014.

 “We have a saying at the resort: every guest, every interaction, every time. I’m proud to be a part of a culture at Hyatt that values people first, and our associates embrace that,” says King. ”The commitment our associates have to being the best that they can be and giving every one of our guests the best possible experience, every time, is what fuels our success.”

Throughout his career, King has been incredibly active in the hospitality industry and served on several chamber of commerce and visitors bureau committees. He was president of the North Florida Hotel and Lodging Association and sat on the board of directors of the Visit Jacksonville Convention and Visitors Bureau. King was recently appointed to the executive committee of the San Antonio Hotel and Lodging Association.
