HYATT UNVEILS A FULLY RESTORED AND REVIVED ROYAL PALMS RESORT AND SPA

By M+E Staff

Royal Palms Resort and Spa in Phoenix is part of The Unbound Collection by Hyatt brand and has been restored and revived after a $3.7 million renovation. The resort was a 1929 original private mansion for financier Delos Willard Cooke and his wife Florence. The renovation touched all 119 guest rooms, the Presidential Suite, the Mother-of-Pearl swimming pool and lounge area, event lawns, and landscaping and upkeep of about 200 towering palms that accent the nine acres of the resort.

“It is with great honor and pride that we share the refreshed accommodations, sophisticated surroundings and elevated guest experience that will keep Royal Palms among the country’s top places to stay,” said Geoff Gray, general manager of Royal Palms Resort and Spa. “Our team was adamant about keeping the resort’s distinct character intact, while at the same time introducing modern-day comforts and conveniences for today’s most discerning travelers.”

The resort is rich with history, emblematic details, and is in an iconic location at the base of Camelback Mountain. Rooms were brightened using the natural backdrop of desert Earth tones framed by rich wood along with custom carved wood desks add a cozy and western element to the room. In addition to this, guests can expect to see new artwork and linens that reflect the hues and lavish textures of the Mediterranean, with custom tapestries, wood flooring, Spanish hacienda inspired corridors, custom, hand finished fireplaces, outdoor showers, claw-foot bathtubs, and lighted mirrors featured in bathrooms of suites and casitas.

The 1,700 square-foot Presidential Suite has been upgraded with a gourmet kitchen, wine refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, and a private patio that showcases the breathtaking views of Arizona.

Royal Palms Resort and Spa continues its romantic tradition with poolside cabanas with orbit beds, seasonal culinary and cocktail menus, Mother-of-Pearl tiled pool, and a whirlpool spa. To leave a lasting impression on guests, the resort is detailed with winding stone paths that pass along orange trees, trickling fountains in courtyards, outdoor fireplaces, lush gardens, exotic plants and desert flowers, and 100-year-old rustic doorways.
