According to recently published figures, IMEX America 2016 has officially broken multiple records. The event, which was held Oct. 18–20, had an attendance increase of 14 percent from last year.
There was a 6 percent increase in the attendance of hosted buyers, making up 3,216 from 60 countries. About 10,000 buyers attended group appointments and prescheduled appointments were upwards of 60,000—far more than the numbers gathered in 2015.
“One of the many things IMEX does well is the appointment system—it works out so well for both exhibitors and hosted buyers,” says Claudia Cavariani, a hosted buyer from Dafing Group in Argentina. “It’s flexible and efficient—the exhibitors have prepared information for you so you spend your time well. It’s a show where I do serious business.”
Another record IMEX America 2016 broke was welcoming 3,250 exhibiting companies, a 4.8 percent increase from 2015. The companies represented 139 countries and resulted in 69 new booths at the trade show IMEX America 2016 was the largest IMEX America in history.
