New Courtyard Marriott Opens in Mt. Pleasant

By M+E Staff

The Mt. Pleasant Area Convention and Visitors Bureau recently revealed the Courtyard Marriott at Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant. Although it opened on July 13, 2016, the official ribbon-cutting ceremony was not held until Aug. 16, 2016.

The hotel, which will be managed by Lodgco Management of Mt. Pleasant, is located right next to the Kelly/Shorts Stadium. With 148 rooms and nine suites, the hotel will provide CMU hospitality students with the opportunity to gain real-world experience by working in the hotel.

Its large lobby features media pods with televisions, a coffee counter serving Starbucks coffee and a hotel restaurant that serves both breakfast and dinner. They also have a ballroom that seats 250 people and can be split into three distinct sections, making an incredibly versatile space.

Each guest room has the highest quality audio and video equipment. Additionally there is an indoor pool, fitness center, high-speed Wi-Fi, USB ports, microwaves and refrigerators for the guests to enjoy.

“We are excited for this new hotel and hope to draw more meetings and events to the area,” says Chris Rowley, executive director of the Mt. Pleasant Area CVB. “Mt. Pleasant is a great central location in the state for meetings, conventions and sporting events.”
