The 66-room Little River Inn on the Mendocino Coast has long been a popular spot for intimate corporate gatherings. Its Abalone Room accommodates 100 and an ocean-facing deck can be tented to provide an additional 800 square feet for mingling. Now, busy guests can be even more productive, thanks to its two new spacious Work/Play Suites, that each offer two 24-inch monitors, a keyboard, 500Mbit Wi-Fi, a Herman Miller chair, use of a VOIP phone, and access to Skype, along with amenities like Nest thermostats and smart light bulbs and alarm clocks. “Mendocino is charming, remote and very popular with people who want to be ‘off the grid,’” says Cally Dym, the Little River Inn’s proprietor. “But we noticed that our guests preferred the best of both worlds—an intense shot of unspoiled nature, while still being as connected as they are at work.” Dym notes that the suites were designed not only for private productivity, but also as a complement to a company retreat or small conference. littleriverinn.com
