Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa recently announced the appointment of Michael Hammes as director of food and beverage and Rodrigo Ibanez as director of rooms at the luxurious Hill Country resort. In his role, Hammes is responsible for oversight of all of the food and beverage offerings within the resort including Hill Country Dining Room, 8212 Wine Bar & Grill and Bartons Lounge. As director of rooms, Ibanez is responsible for the performance of the rooms division, including front desk, housekeeping, laundry, and loss prevention.
Hammes joins Omni Hotels & Resorts from the Woodlands Resort & Conference Center near Houston, where he served as the property’s director of food and beverage. He also has international management experience with Planet Hollywood, focusing on U.S., Australia and Africa franchises. Hammes graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City with a Bachelor’s Degree in communications.
Ibanez has more than 10 years of hospitality experience holding several leadership roles in rooms divisions for various hotel brands. Most recently, he worked at Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif., as the director of rooms. He received a degree in hotel management from the International Buenos Aires Hotel & Restaurant School.
