The Omni Charlotte Hotel announced a $26 million transformation that will turn the hotel into a contemporary lifestyle destination.
The hotel renovation takes inspiration from the discovery of the 17-pound gold nugget and the reputation of the city’s top banking center.
“Once the transformation is complete, the Omni Charlotte Hotel will be a one-of-a-kind destination for leisure and business travelers, as well as meeting attendees,” says David Palumbo, general manager for the Omni Charlotte Hotel. “The property will feature a sleek new exterior, modern lobby experience, cosmopolitan guest rooms and suites, and an exclusive rooftop pool deck and bar space that will soon become the city’s go-to urban oasis.”
The 374 guest rooms and suites will feature a built-in custom casegoods, a new coffee experience featuring a bar built into the countertop along with long comfy sofas for guests to enjoy. The artwork in rooms will tie back to the hotel’s overall concept.
A main feature of the multimillion dollar hotel transformation is the redesign of the rooftop pool deck adding an additional 3,000 square feet of space. The space will include double-sided LED television screens, each 22 feet wide by 12 feet high, the largest screens in the city.
The front exterior will now allow for more transparent and natural light to reach the arrival drive upon entry to the hotel. It will feature an expansive glass exterior. The lobby will be adorned with luxury enhancements and precious metals serving as inspiration for the fixtures. The registration and check-in process has been redesigned allowing guests to check-in easier and faster.
The hotel restaurant, Trade Restaurant & Bar, will undergo a major transformation as well. The restaurant will add a new bar, seating, tables, carpet, and lighting.
The club lounge will be enhanced with new counter bars. It will have a view of the Charlotte skyline and serve as a area for guests to enjoy a complimentary breakfast and have a cocktail.
