Pod Brooklyn Set to Open Spring 2017

By M+E Staff

BD Hotels and CB Developers are opening another Pod Hotel in New York City, this time in Willamsburg. Set to open in spring of 2017, Pod Brooklyn will be a micro-hotel comprised of modular guest rooms.

“We are introducing an entirely new category to Williamsburg with our first hotel outside of Manhattan in over 20 years,” says Richard Born. “We look forward to filling a gap in lodging within an area that has seen a surplus of luxury hotels. We expect Pod Brooklyn to attract the individual looking for affordable, stylish accommodations, allowing them to easily explore the destination and meet others in numerous communal environments.”

Built in Poland, the Pod Brooklyn—designed by Garrison Architects and Pod Hotel design director, Vanessa Guilford—will be shipped to New York City. The rooms will be connected via multiple courtyards and pathways.

There will be 249 modular rooms that are 100 square feet each. Each room has queen bunk beds, built-in storage, oversized windows overlooking greenery, public spaces for socializing, and blackout and noise blocking shades.

The open-air lobby offers self check-in with iPads, work and lounge areas, small bites and coffee throughout the day. There is more than 10,000 square feet of public space that includes restaurants, bars, rooftops and three courtyards that are connected by glass walkways. Located in central Williamsburg, the hotel is within walking distance of popular stores and restaurants in the neighborhood.
