Provenance Hotels and NPB Capital has purchased the Portland, Ore.-based Cornelius Hotel and the Woodlark Building—both built in the early 1900s; construction has begun to merge the buildings into what will be The Woodlark Hotel, which will contain 151 rooms with a minimalist aesthetic. Designed by Portland’s Staicoff Design Studio, The Woodland will be unlike anything else in Portland, having a more refined, elegant feel.
“Our goal is to create an experience that reflects Portland’s lush surroundings and balances beauty with substance, nuance and soul,” says Bashar Wali, president, Provenance Hotels. “We aim to fully embrace the Cornelius Hotel’s original motto—House of Welcome—and make The Woodlark a place for both visitors and locals to connect with the city’s offerings.”
The Woodlark will feature many of the same amenities as the Provenance Hotels. Set to open late in 2017, the hotel will have 2,500 square feet of event space, along with restaurants and bars which will be announced at a later date. For more information, visit woodlarkhotel.com.
