Natirar, a 35,000-square-foot mansion located in New Jersey’s Somerset Hills, is undergoing renovations and expansion. The project is expected to be completed in June 2017 and will feature a complete restoration and a brand-new grand ballroom.
The property sits on 500 acres along the Raritan River and includes a peaceful, private getaway while only being an hour from New York City and about 90 minutes from Philadelphia. Natirar is a venue for countless weddings, social events, corporate meetings and receptions. However, they only welcome one event at a time, to ensure privacy for each group.
Coming in June 2017, there will be a number of restorations to the estate, from copper roofing to fine oak paneling and molded ceiling, with the goal of maintaining the property’s history. The Natirar has kept the estates arches, fireplaces, heraldic carvings, leaded glass windows and light fixtures. The mansion will reopen its Great Room, Dining Room, Bride’s Room and Groom’s Room.
Natirar’s restaurant, Ninety Acres, will remain open during the restoration. The award-winning restaurant includes a private dining room, wine cellar and a cooking school, which has a demo kitchen with stations for up to 40 people and is available for corporate teambuilding groups. Natirar also provides catering services, with menus from Executive Chef David C. Felton and wines organized by sommelier Brooke Sabel.
