ROOF on theWit Chicago offers new Absolut Warhol specialty cocktail

By Dinneen Graff

Set 27 stories above Chicago’s iconic theWit hotel, ROOF on theWit is paying tribute to Andy Warhol’s 1980 ad campaign for Absolut Vodka at Chicago’s original rooftop. What better way to celebrate than with a specialty cocktail; the ROOF is offering guests its very own crafted Absolut Warhol. The drink combines Absolut Elyx, Strawberry-Infused Bergamot Liqueur, St. Germain and House Lemon Sour, along with a lemon peel garnish as a nod to Andy’s blonde bangs.

The hotel is also offering an exclusive Warhol at theWit Package in partnership with the Art Institute of Chicago, providing guests with a stay at the hotel, an Art Institute Fast Pass and Warhol Exhibit ticket. Additionally, guests who show their Warhol Exhibit ticket and purchase an Absolut Warhol will receive one complimentary drink.

The tribute doesn’t stop there; every Sunday, ROOF’s Pop Sundays showcase Warhol-inspired Chicago pop art displayed throughout the patio’s recently renovated 40-foot Artisan Wall and state-of-the-art LED screen.

“We knew that art was going to play a major factor in the new ambience of ROOF,” says Director of Events Beatriz Jara. “The Art Institute announced the Andy Warhol exhibit and it fell right in with our Sunday programming focused on champagne. We paired the day with custom Andy Warhol-inspired art featuring iconic Chicago celebrities and landmarks – and “POP” Sundays, a mix of champagne and pop art, was created.”

Set against dramatic views of Millennium Park, Lake Michigan and the Chicago River, ROOF’s 4,917-square-foot indoor/outdoor space offers the perfect venue for year round events. The retractable roof and divisible indoor space make for a diverse venue, able to accompany up to 325 guests.
