By M+E Staff

After completing a $30 million renovation, Sheraton Bay Point Resort, located in Panama City Beach, Fla., has reopened its doors.

“Panama City Beach is fast becoming the ideal destination for meetings, conferences, tradeshows and conventions in Florida. With its convenient location, ample meeting and event space and beautiful surroundings, it made for an ideal choice for the new Sheraton Bay Point Resort,” says Bob Jacobs, vice president of brand management, Sheraton North America. “The opening of a major resort is always a significant milestone for a brand, and the Sheraton Bay Point Resort is no exception. This opening speaks to the renewed focus to not only further the growth momentum in North America, but also updated, modern offerings for the local community, global travelers and meeting planners alike”

Sheraton Bay Point Resort features 200 guest rooms and suites, and 120 golf villas. The resort has three outdoor pools; a number of water sports and activities such as fishing in the marina; three clay tennis courts, a fitness center; and a boardwalk that leads to the hotel’s private beach.

Additionally, the property holds 60,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space—including a 12,000-square-foot ballroom, 8,000-square-foot junior ballroom, eight breakout rooms, 22 individual meeting rooms and an outdoor pavilion. There also is a 12,000-square-foot spa and salon, and two renowned golf courses.

“After our recently completed renovations and improvements throughout the property, we believe that adding Crescent’s renowned level of service will best position the Sheraton Bay Point Resort for future growth,” says Pat Shimon, general manager. “We expect the Sheraton Bay Point Resort to significantly raise the bar for resorts in this area and emerge as a leading choice among global travelers.”
