Already a go-to for striking views of the Chicago River and Magnificent Mile, The Gwen, a Luxury Collection Hotel, is offering guests a whole new way to soak in the city this summer with a luxe urban glamping experience.
Now in full-swing, glamping season at The Gwen gives guests a chance to sleep under the stars on its 16th floor Gwen Lux Suite terrace from June through September.
Drawing inspiration from the recent trend in upscale camp offerings and festivals like Coachella, the city’s one and only glamping experience creates a private retreat on The Gwen’s 1,000-square-foot terrace (one of the largest private outdoor terraces in the city). The eclectic and expansive Lotus Belle tent—complete with lavish bohemian furnishings including drum side tables, hand-knotted macramé seat cushions and a braided Indian jute rug—along with thoughtful details like earthenware lamps and glided quatrefoil lanterns help guests feel right at home on their urban adventure.
Guests can enjoy the best of both worlds with access to a two-bedroom suite (accommodating up to six), as well as an outdoor gas-burning fire pit and amenities including access to the hotel’s Elite Ambassador Service, a welcome bite and a four-course glamping tasting menu from chef Matt Jergens, featuring seasonal dishes like King Salmon gravlax with smoked roe and crème fraiche or a whole grilled snapper for two. And, of course, no camping experience is complete without s’mores and glamping guests can indulge in the ultimate summer treat with The Gwen’s exotic turndown amenity featuring Mexican chocolate, house-made cayenne marshmallows and a gold leaf garnish.
