Stanford Court to Undergo Yearlong Renovation

By M+E Staff

A $16 million redesign has been announced at Stanford Court, a tech-centric hotel located atop the San Francisco landmark Nob Hill. With a slated completion of spring 2018, the renovation will touch everything from the hotel’s lobby to their guest rooms, fitness center, meeting and event spaces and hotel amenities. The hotel will remain operational throughout the entirety of the project.

“Stanford Court’s transformational reboot will showcase the City by the Bay’s legacy of creative design, innovation, technology, and exceptional food and beverage,” says Michael Baier, general manager. “By partnering with EDG Design, the hotel will prioritize the local culture of San Francisco in its redesign centered around the design concept of “where tomorrow meets yesterday.”

The history of Nob Hill and its famous former resident, tycoon and philanthropist Leland Stanford, will be incorporated through video, music, sculpture and photography from the city’s heritage.

The redesign will offer a modern color palette and a mix of old and new fixtures. Materials like brass, blackened steel and rustic wood in the lobby will juxtapose guest rooms with stark white, subtle grey, bold blues and gold color palettes. The lobby will also feature leather furniture and saturated jewel tones.

The upgrade will result in more amenities and services to the hotel. The fitness center will feature state-of-the-art equipment, and the meeting and event spaces will have 2,100 square feet of innovative space ideal for collaboration and brainstorming as well as new wireless connectivity for audio visual technology.

As a hotel geared toward technology-savvy and adventurous guests, the redesign will not be short on new technologies and innovations that will enhance each guest’s day-to-day experience. From keyless entry, JAMBOX speakers, access to countless e-books and digital subscriptions through Foli, a collection of local artwork, city bikes and Zipcars to electric car charging stations, Stanford Court’s remodel has their customers in mind.
