The Metro Toronto Convention Centre Launches Impressive South Building Modification

By M+E Staff

The Metro Toronto Convention Centre announced that its South Building is undergoing a $23 million renovation and modification, which will include 10 new meeting rooms, offering an additional 13,000 square feet of event space. Tvsdesigns and IA Interior Architects will guide the renovation, projected to complete in early 2018.

“The South Building modification reflects our commitment to offer a world-class convention centre,” says Barry Smith, president and CEO of MTCC. “The project has been carefully planned based on direct feedback from our customers and is aligned with our goal to help create successful events.”

Updates to the South Building will include redesigned registration areas, a notable digital experience, a new escalator and service elevator, updated lighting, a refurbished café space and modern interior design finishes similar to the recently updated North Building. The building will be equipped with operable walls between several spaces to create an additional flexible 8,000 square feet of meeting room.
