Now groups can experience Florida like cowboys from the 1700s in a new teambuilding experience at Westgate River Ranch. During the cowboy cattle drive, a half-day excursion in the heart of Florida’s lush cattle lands, groups will rely on the same skills Florida’s first cowboys used to herd wild cows.
The cattle drive excursion begins with a sunrise breakfast at the ranch, where groups saddle up for a scenic horseback ride to gather the herd. Guided by experienced Florida cowboys, group members rely on teamwork to drive a small herd of cattle across the open Florida wilderness into cow pens back at cow camp. Juggling the challenges of riding a horse and communicating with each other, groups must complete the task without leaving any cattle behind.
After wrangling the herd, groups can celebrate their hard work with a country-style lunch under a shaded oak hammock, complete with whip-cracking and rope-throwing competitions.
In addition to cattle drives, more than a dozen cowboy-themed teambuilding activities are available, including a blindfolded saddle assembly competition and a low-elements outdoor adventure course. The ranch also offers an array of cowboy-themed amenities and activities, including the longest-running Saturday night championship rodeo in the state, horseback riding, airboat rides, swamp buggy tours, trap and skeet shooting and a mechanical bull.
