Work the Land Instead of the Desk

Extreme Sandbox has just introduced their latest adventure—Extreme Harvest Experience—where people swap their day job for a farming experience.

Randy Senger, CEO of the Hastings-based company, partnered with several local farmers to bring the experience to interested individuals. The one-hour adventure includes driving a Lexion 730 Combine and other tractors during the harvest season for limited time only. Participants will harvest mostly soybeans and corn.

“We’ve been creating an awesome construction experience for people for years while helping to develop a real appreciation for the industry,” says Stenger. “We thought it’d be great to do the same for farmers. No one really gets to experience the machines, being in the field hands-on. Farming is important to Minnesota. What a cool way to see what it’s like while also bringing some deserved attention to those that help us put food on the table.”

There are only six weeks in the fall harvesting season, which goes from the first week of October until mid-November. Orders must be purchased by Oct. 31 either through their website, extremesandbox.com, or by calling 855.DIG4FUN. Schedules depend on weather and availability.
