Robert Snyders, who retired in late March 2017, served for 20 years as the National Sales Director for Experience Grand Rapids.
“Bob has been an integral part of the sales team at Experience Grand Rapids,” says Tom Bennett, vice president of sales and services of Experience Grand Rapids.
After earning a bachelor’s degree in business at Cleary University and gaining 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Snyders joined Experience Grand Rapids and took responsibility for booking agricultural, fraternal, government, military and religious-focused conferences and meetings to the Grand Rapids area.
“Throughout his career, Bob has been a dedicated team member and helped bring more than 500 meetings to the city of Grand Rapids, generating more than 350,000 attendees and $245 million in economic impact,” says Bennett. “A few noteworthy groups include the USA/Canada Lions Leadership Forum, Religious Conference Management Association and Grand Convention for the Grand Aerie of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. His knowledge and enthusiasm will be missed.”
Snyders’ plans for the future include spending time with his grandchildren, traveling and volunteering in the community.
“I’m excited to start this next chapter in my life,” says Snyders. “I’ve truly enjoyed working at Experience Grand Rapids and I look forward to seeing how the organization and city grow in the years to come.”
