Meet Christophe Thomas

Christophe Thomas was recently appointed general manager for SLS Hotel at Beverly Hills.

1. What are you most looking forward to in your new role at SLS Hotel at Beverly Hills?

I am looking forward to maintaining continuity of the exceptional programs and activities that are already in place while introducing new ideas for enhancement. We will focus on delivering excellence in every service, for every guest, and for each team member. We want to make each guest interaction a fabulous and memorable experience by anticipating their needs, and helping them to Savor Life Slowly!   

2. How do you think your past industry experience has prepared you for this role?

Over the last 25 years, I have worked in Belgium, France, Ecuador, Brazil, and most recently in the USA since 2000. I spent 5 years in Chicago, 7 years in NYC, and 3 years in San Francisco. Through these experiences, I have learned to adapt very quickly to different cultures, settings and environments. I see life as a road of discovery and I believe that my openness, experience and drive will be pivotal in the evolution of the innovative spirit of the SLS Beverly Hills.

3. What goals do you have in mind for the hotel for this year and further down the line?

My primary goal is to maintain our position as a leading hotel in the Luxury Lifestyle segment in Los Angeles. We do have programming planned for the next few years designed to ensure that the SLS remains top of mind and relevant. I could not have dreamed of a better time to join this team!

4. How did you get into the industry?

By the age of 15, I already knew that I wanted to work in hospitality. Taking care of people and making them feel special is natural to me. I have always been excited about creating wonderful and memorable experiences for our guests. Therefore, I decided to pursue a degree at the Hospitality School of Strasbourg, and immediately after I jumped into the hotel world. My first job was at Le Meridien Etoile in Paris. I can tell you that every working day since then has been a true joy!

5. What do you enjoy most about the organization?

SLS is a very innovative and creative brand. The association with The Luxury Collection and Starwood makes it even more special. As a very unique property with an amazing team, we definitely have the recipe for success. For me, it is all about Service.  Our guests always come first. We love what we do and I believe our guests can really see and feel it!
