Katherine McBee was recently hired as a sales manager for Visit Lubbock
1. What are you most looking forward to in your new role as a sales manager and design for Visit Lubbock?
I am most looking forward to meeting new people and discussing with them the incredible accommodations, venues and culture of Lubbock that make it a premier destination to host a meeting or conference.
2. How do you think your past industry experience has prepared you for this role?
As a previous event planner in Lubbock, I can utilize my professional experience and resources to aid meeting planners through the process of planning an event. For seasoned veterans, I can offer my personal knowledge and local insight.
3. What goals do you have in mind for the CVB for this year and farther down the line?
My goals for the future of Lubbock’s CVB include assuring each and every person who visits Lubbock experiences the wonderful west Texas culture and leaves wanting to visit again. My hope is to continue cultivating community relationships to grow awareness and support for our CVB and continue the incredible work environment established within our CVB through our core values.
4. How did you get into the hospitality industry?
I began working in the field of hospitality as an event planner for a college of Texas Tech University, accommodating a variety of individuals for an array of events.
5. What do you enjoy most about the CVB?
What I enjoy most about our CVB is the ability I have to interact with a variety of clients all while working for a common purpose of finding the perfect fit for a meeting planner to host their event in Lubbock.
6. Any additional comments?
I’m thrilled to be working with event planners showing them all the wonderful opportunities in Lubbock. West Texas is a unique location with friendly people, warm hospitality and many attractions to keep you busy during your visit!
