Chris Lynn was recently named the director – global sales for Anchor Collection.
1. What are you looking forward to most in your new role?
I am looking forward to promoting a unique and inspiring collection of event solutions across some exciting destinations and meeting inspiring event strategists who are always pushing the boundaries of what is possible to advance our industry. I am looking forward to getting out and about to connect with event planners up and down the east coast, with a strong focus on global potential. This journey is going to be fun and exciting!
2. How do you think past experiences have prepared you for this role?
The wanderlust that my global travels have afforded me have consistently inspired me to be energised and passionate about the events landscape. Having personally planned and supported event strategists on 4 continents, my global industry family always reminds me that this industry is about the people and experiences we can create to enrich our lives and the planet. I enjoy being a thought leader and pioneer when it comes to driving success through collaborative efforts.
3. How did you get into the industry?
I have always been passionate about travel and bringing people together through the power of events whether it is to communicate or celebrate! My university studies supported me in building a strong foundation of knowledge and then my career through the hotel, venue and event services route built a strong foundation for the next chapter of my career. I have worked for Edwardian Hotels, London; Marriott Hotels & The Brewery (unique venue); MCI (PCO/Event Management Company); and London & Partners (DMO).
4. What are you hoping to achieve in your new role?
I am looking forward to continue to build the success of the Anchor Collection brand on the East Coast, building on the hard work and determination that Cherryl Brazier has already established! I will be looking to spread the word far and wide about exciting emerging destination such as Cannes and Deauville, France and Bali, supporting established destinations such as London and New York through Anchor Collections offering, including Etc. Venues and promoting inspiring product such as Iconic Luxury Hotels, including Cliveden and exclusive use options including Isole, Orlando and Candacraig, Scotland.
5. What do you enjoy most about the industry?
This industry is the hidden gem on the world stage that touches everyone’s life and really provides us with the ability to be energized and inspired to achieve greater things in our lives and professionally through the power of events. My true love is being a connector of people, and PEOPLE are always at the heart of everything we do in this world!
