Donna Horii was recently named the national group sales manager for The Charter at Beaver Creek

1. What are you looking forward to most in your new role?

I am happy to be at the Charter and a part of the East West Hospitality team, helping to rebuild a strong meetings base.  As the recovery period is beginning it will be great to bring new clients to the Charter to see the $5M in renovation that we are starting next week!  And soon the new Charter Overlook will be one of the premier wedding ceremony sites in Beaver Creek!  Also looking forward to working with Village Wide Meetings here in the Beaver Creek Village, allowing us to serve larger groups.

2. How do you think past experiences have prepared you for this role?

I have worked at several properties and destination marketing organizations in their meetings departments, and become very involved with the industry organizations and Meeting Planner Network within the state of Colorado.  This property is a gem for smaller meetings and will be a great partner in Village Wide meetings here in Beaver Creek.

3. How did you get into this industry?

I have had a passion for travel and adventure since I was a child, and went to the University of Colorado and received my degree in Commercial Recreation.  I’ve always been excited to share my passion and excitement with my clients as I’ve been fortunate to represent wonderful properties and destinations.

4. What are you hoping to achieve in your new role?

I hope to establish the Charter as a prime meeting spot in Beaver Creek and the Vail Valley, and share the other East West Properties and destinations.

5. What do you enjoy most about the industry?

I feel so fortunate to live and work in the mountains. The people involved in this industry are all great, clients, co-workers, and colleagues, really have become family.
