Hotel bars have quickly become chic city hotspots and in Plano, these properties are no exception. Even locals find themselves visiting hotel bars for their trendy atmospheres and excellent drinks and bar bites. Whether or not you’re staying at the hotel, make sure to stop by one of these swanky spots for happy hour or an after-dinner drink.
Rustic Jewel
Dallas/Plano Marriott at Legacy Town Center
This lobby bar was recently added to the Dallas/Plano Marriott at Legacy Town Center and has quickly become a hidden gem for locals and guests alike. With the hotel located just outside The Shops at Legacy, Rustic Jewel serves as a common meeting area for groups to enjoy a drink before heading to the popular eatery for dinner. Patrons are in for a real treat if they order the old fashioned, which is smoked right on the bar on a fresh plank of cedar. Other menu highlights include the spicy margarita with homemade spicy tincture and a local whiskey, Crooked Fox, that is currently being aged in the bar’s own oak barrel giving a unique flavor guests won’t find anywhere else.
The Prairie Fire Bar
Hilton Dallas/Plano Granite Park
The Prairie Fire Bar draws inspiration from Plano’s early settlers and is even decorated with symbolic architecture of a roaring fire above the bar. There are also indoor and outdoor fireplaces where guests can get comfortable and enjoy a beverage and live music is played during the summer months on the outdoor patio. The signature cocktail menu features seasonal drinks like a strawberry mojito, apple and berry sangria and even a ginger lime fizz mocktail. The food options range from quick bites like the fig and prosciutto flatbread to full entrées such as the 72-hour braised beef short rib. This warm and inviting bar really does have something for everyone.
Whiskey Moon
Renaissance Dallas at Plano Legacy West
East meets West at Whiskey Moon, a darkened lounge that combines Asian art with southern charm. Deep red tones combine with 150 North Texas ranchers’ cattle branding irons and all meet over a Japanese dragon-inspired carpet in the Renaissance Dallas at Plano Legacy West bar. The Renaissance culture believes the 5 to 9 hours of the day are just as important as the 9 to 5 and this space reflects that. Travelers and locals can enjoy bites such as the pork belly Japanese buns while sipping drinks like the Pecan Old Fashioned, the Maccha Collins or sampling from the impressive collection of whiskeys behind the bar.
Moxie’s Grill & Bar
Sandman Signature Hotel
Located next to the new Sandman Signature Hotel, Moxie’s Grill & Bar features creative cocktails, a sleek, neutral design and bar bites that will delight any group, especially during happy hour. Start by sampling snacks like the potstickers, lettuce wraps and guacamole, but then stay for a full dinner with options like the Texas prime rib eye and a red Thai curry bowl. Moxie’s Grill & Bar truly delights with its one-of-a-kind cocktail menu including treats like the Strawberry Ghost Pepper Margarita and the Avocado Gimlet.
