Atlantis, Paradise Island in the Bahamas is connected to Texas via nonstop flights out of Dallas or Houston. Not only does the destination have white sand beaches that flank a state-of-the-art conference center, but it also offers a team of experienced and dedicated in-house planners who are on-call through every step of the process.
The team at Atlantis can arrange every detail of a customized group stay, including a variety of team-building activities. Attendees can golf, dine, play sand volleyball, try a climbing wall or even participate in a themed 5k run/walk.
Other customized activities include the “Build a Boat and Hope it Floats Regatta,” in which teams design and build a cardboard box that will (hopefully) float across open water. Atlantis takes care of the logistics, while groups up to 50 can get creative to vie for team and individual prizes.
“The Atlantis Team Challenge” is patterned after a popular game show, with a special twist—everyone gets involved in the action. During the game, the qualities that make strong teams are highlighted, such as teamwork, leadership and ingenuity.
Other entertaining and team-building options abound, from upclose tours of marine habitat to swimming with dolphins or interacting with sea lions. Atlantis is home to one of the largest and most sophisticated marine habitats and dolphin rescue-rehabilitation sites in the Caribbean. There’s even one spunky sea lion who likes to liven-up events as a “guest speaker.”
Entertainment and hands-on experiences can be arranged for attendees’ family members, such as the “Ultimate Trainer for a Day” program, which offers a full-day of dolphin care and education. Groups can book interactive experiences with dolphins, sea lions and sting rays. During the dolphin deep-water swim, for example, attendees can hug and pet an Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphin and experience a dolphin “foot-push” that will propel each person across a lagoon.
In addition, Atlantis now offers all-inclusive packages for conferences, meetings and incentives. These all-inclusive packages include dining at Atlantis’ range of restaurants, including celebrity chef Todd English’s Olives and the renown Virgil’s BBQ. There’s also the newly opened 77° West at The Cove Atlantis.
The inclusiveness offered to groups extends to guest accommodations in the Royal Towers or Coral Towers (all with Wi-Fi), as well as access to Atlantis’ 141-acre Aquaventure water park, a 7,500-square-foot sports center and marine exhibits. Attendees and their families can tour “The Dig,” a series of underground tunnels that offer close-ups of 6-foot Moray Eels, piranhas, jellyfish, lobster, sharks and more.
The Atlantis Conference Center offers 200,000 square feet of indoor space, including 40,000 square feet of prefunction space and a banquet capacity of 4,000 attendees. The largest space is the Imperial Ballroom, with 50,000 square feet of flexible space and 26-foot ceilings. The 25,000-square-foot Grand Ballroom accommodates groups up to 2,700 with a variety of configurations. Don’t need that much space? The Atlantis Conference Center includes a number of other event spaces, ranging from meeting rooms for 600 to boardrooms for 12.
Pools and private cabanas with poolside food and beverage service can be arranged, and entire pools with catering service can be reserved for groups in this lush tropical locale.
