Need a chic but conversational place to grab coffee and network? Check out Austin-based Houndstooth Coffee, now open at the Sylvan | Thirty development in West Dallas. Encompassing 2,100 square feet, the flexible, multiuse space is a day-to-night concept with a coffee bar occupying an airy, sunlit space, and Jettison, a bar component offering a private retreat for cocktails and conversation.
Focusing on clean lines and simplicity, Houndstooth Coffee has bar seating and standing room that allows for 360-degree engagement, as well as covered patios and flexible seating options. The configuration allows groups to enjoy the space together while using individual spots for breakaway conversations and out-of-the-office work.
“With this new location, we really wanted to challenge ourselves and keep pushing the coffee conversation forward,” says Sean Henry, owner of Houndstooth Coffee. “This new space lends itself to introducing allnew elements, and we’re excited to not just replicate the successes of our other locations, but to continue to evolve as our brand grows.”
Houndstooth Coffee opened its first location in Austin in May 2010, on the corner of 42nd and Lamar streets, and has opened two more stores in addition to the latest Sylvan | Thirty location—a second Austin location on Congress Avenue in Austin and a Dallas store on Henderson Avenue.
Houndstooth Coffee also offers personal barista service that can bring the café experience to events. This service includes an expertly trained barista, an espresso cart and brewed coffee—by the cup or in group quantity—as well as pastry options.
