Restaurant Recommendation: Dine By the Sea at Long Branch’s Avenue

By M+E Staff

When you think of the Jersey shore it’s not often that France comes to mind, but Long Branch’s Avenue looks and feels like a fresh French breeze. The restaurant sits right on the boardwalk overlooking the beach and Atlantic Ocean. Inside, the décor is Atlantic-themed (take one look at that 25-foot bar inspired by the hull of a ship and there’s no doubt you’re at the beach). Floor-to-ceiling windows frame views of the ocean. The food is equally French-inspired with traditional brasserie offerings, like steak frites, moules frites, escargot, salt-encrusted baked whole fish, salad nicoise, fresh seafood platters and a raw bar.

The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner during the week as well as brunch on the weekends. In addition to its main dining room, which accommodates 200 for a seated event and 350 for cocktail parties, Avenue has a stunning third-floor rooftop lounge with availability for 250 guests for cocktails, as well as the Media Room for corporate meetings up to 20 guests.

“Avenue is a one-of-a-kind event space, as we are located directly on the ocean with indoor and outdoor space on both the 1st and 3rd floors. Our style is unique, as we cater to a cocktail-style event rather than the more formal, traditional sitdown dinner,” says Nancy Mascera, events manager. Avenue also takes advantage of its prime location just steps from the ocean. “Our beach parties are complete with a grill on the beach and are held in celebration of many different types of events. With different types of seating, it offers a very social, casual affair. We even offer enhancements such as bonfires (including s’mores!) fire pits and fireworks celebrations.”
