Flashback: A Look Back at the Machine Shop

By Linda Krein

The historic Machine Shop has returned in full force as one of the hottest venues in the city. Originally built in 1916, the building was originally used a machinery shop for the Pillsbury A-Mill. Now, it’s an industrial-chic event space as of July 2016. “The building has been carefully restored, keeping the surviving original 1916 architectural details intact,” says Stephanie Guidera, director of sales and marketing. “The floors on both levels, the ceiling structure, many light fixtures, beautiful brickwork, window frames, and equipment, including the iconic orange gantry and crane, are original to the building.”

The venue has more than 18,000 square feet of meeting and event space, and is able to hold from 100 to 1,000 guests. It hosts everything from public events to lavish private parties.
