Napa Valley’s Meritage Resort & Spa recently debuted a new program designed to help groups gathering at the resort achieve more “Mindful Meetings.” The program, offered in partnership with Bare Health, can be custom tailored for groups and includes the following wellness-focused activities: meditation, yoga in the vineyard, sound healing, and the creation of juices, smoothies and morning elixirs at the resort’s brand-new Food & Wine Center.
According to Sheri Thomas, director of sales for the 322-room Meritage and its luxury resort-within-a-resort Vista Collina (which offers 145 guest rooms), the activities listed in the program are a way to start a conversation with the meeting planner to create a schedule that not only teaches attendees about wellness but has the added benefit of getting people out of their shells and engaging the creative side of their brain.
“People are wanting to do a little more with their meetings,” says Thomas. “Adding these types of activities can help attendees disconnect and become more centered and productive.”
Thomas also points out these activities are offered at a price point that isn’t prohibitive, leading some groups to choose to offer a variety. “One group did a round robin-style event where attendees could try meditation, yoga or learn about nutrition at a smoothie bar,” says Thomas.
(The 60-minute meditation session and the 60- to 90-minute Yoga in the Vineyard are both $30 per person. Sound Healing is 75 minutes/$50 per person and the 2.5-hour juicing, smoothies and morning elixirs demonstration class is $125 for each attendee.)
Together, the Meritage Resort & Spa and Vista Collina offer 80,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space. This includes the new Food & Wine Center in their Village area, which also features nine winery tasting rooms and an event lawn.
