On Thursday, Oct. 20, Boise Centre officially celebrated the grand opening of City Centre Plaza, which includes the new Clearwater Analytics Building, Boise Centre East, Main Street Station and Boise State University Computer Science Department. The expansion includes 36,000 square feet of additional meeting and event space, including a new ballroom that can accommodate 800 guests seated, eight new meeting rooms, and two levels of pre-function and lobby space.
I was lucky enough to tour the building pre-opening in September. It’s a fabulous addition to the city and the meetings and events community. In November, the convention center will be able to expand its iconic Festival of Trees, adding displays and activities to Boise Centre East. In addition, the city’s downtown holiday tree lighting will take place on the plaza on Nov. 25 and will include carolers, holiday festivities and a giving tree.
Of the expansion, Boise Centre communications manager Mary-Michael Rodgers says, “We’re able to accommodate larger conferences. In April, one returning group will now be using all of the original center and most of the new space.”
