Royal Palms Resort Adds Outdoor Function Space
The historic 119-room Royal Palms Resort and Spa in Phoenix has added 3,600 square feet of outdoor meeting and event space. Famous for its rich history as a private estate dating back nearly 100 years, Royal Palms is reminiscent of a Mediterranean-style retreat with original design details like rustic doors, winding stone paths, hand-painted tile, courtyard fountains, outdoor fireplaces and lush gardens. The property sits on nine acres just below the area’s famous Camelback Mountain.
Tucked on the north side of the property, Camelback Vista can host 100 for a seated dinner and 180 for a reception and features a fireplace and surrounding brick patio, lawn and gated entrance.
The newly imagined Orange Grove accommodates 170 for seated dinners and 200 for receptions and was built on the site of the estate’s original orange grove. Highlights include a fireplace, pergola, tile mural and orange trees. royalpalmshotel.com
Renovation & Accolades for Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain
Only eight properties in the world and three in the United States, including The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain in Tucson, have secured spots on both the Forbes Travel Guide 2018 “World’s Most Luxurious Hotels” and “World’s Most Luxurious Spas” lists. Forbes Travel Guide’s new verified lists are compiled from data gathered by the company’s incognito inspectors, who stay at the properties and evaluate them on up to 900 standards used to determine the guide’s annual star ratings.
The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain also has unveiled a floor-toceiling makeover of its 253 guest rooms and 44,000 square feet of meeting space, all inspired by the resort’s Sonoran Desert sense of place. As part of the upgrade, an arcade and 14 ground-level Fireside Mountain View guest rooms, each outfitted with its own outdoor fire pit, were introduced. ritzcarlton.com/dovemountain
