Room With a View: Spirit of Philadelphia

By Luke Gildemeister

Organizational events and meetings are often vitally important to group success and cohesion, but rarely memorable experiences. Spirit of Philadelphia seeks to change that by offering a completely customizable event experience—on water. The Spirit of Philadelphia cruise ship can accommodate meetings, company outings and client events in a memorable, modern setting. It boasts three climate-controlled decks and an open-air rooftop lounge. In addition to offering lunch and dinner events, Spirit of Philadelphia can host late-night occasions, or “moonlight cruises.” Groups are able to reserve their own private deck or the entire ship, which can hold up to 550 people.

For a more private setting, groups can rent out The Freedom Elite, a separate yacht capable of hosting up to 110 people. Both ships promise one thing: unprecedented views. “You cruise down the Delaware River and see the Philadelphia skyline like never before,” says Sophie Schwartz, marketing coordinator. “We are a floating event and that sets us apart.” Spirit of Philadelphia previously served as host to large com- panies including Comcast and Herbalife, in addition to hosting various local uni- versities. The ship cruises year-round.
