What happens when a company outgrows its trendy downtown office space in LoDo on Blake Street and faces a booming Denver real estate market? Unbridled Solutions LLC, an event management, production and creative agency headquartered in Denver and with offices in Boston, San Diego and Grand Rapids, bought the 16,000-squarefoot Grant Street Mansion in 2014 and relocated its growing family of businesses to the historic landmark in May 2016. The property has 36 rooms and 14 fireplaces and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.
To oversee the task of preserving the historical integrity of the mansion and preparing it for the current needs of its new occupants, President Stan Bullis worked with Denver-based Humphries Poli Architects. Every effort was made to retain the 1892 structure’s original feel and function and follow the high standards of craftsmanship. Once slated for demolition, the Capitol Hill office incorporates forward-thinking design and provides a flow of connectivity and collaboration for today’s smart creatives, next-generation entrepreneurs and socially minded millennials.
“We didn’t set out to buy a mansion, we just needed more space,” confirms Kendall Ruth, director of content and storytelling. “It has been a labor of love.”
All four floors are being used to accommodate 66 staffers, including those from Unbridled Media, Unbridled Travel and UnbridledACTS, a nonprofit that receives 20 percent of annual profits from the family of companies. The 4,000-square-foot carriage house is occupied by Intentionally Gifted, an Unbridled company, and two other companies not affiliated with Unbridled.
